Queer Advisory Council

The Harvard College Queer Advisory Council (QuAC) has three primary functions:

  • To advise the Office of BGLTQ Student Life (and through it, Harvard College) on BGLTQ issues;

  • To award grants to Harvard College student groups seeking to host BGLTQ-related events (using money set aside by the Office of BGLTQ Student Life); and

  • To serve as a forum for the leaders of BGLTQ-identified student groups to discuss issues and coordinate programming.

Membership in this council is open to all Harvard College students. However, the voting members of the council, meaning the individuals who will decide grant awards, will likely include at least one representative from BGLTQ+ focused College student groups. In recent years, we've had QuAC members from BAGELS: a Queer/Jewish Group; Contact Peer Counseling; Girlspot; Harvard Bisexual, Gay, Lesbian, Transgender, Queer & Allies Students in the Sciences (HBASIS); Queer Students and Allies (QSA); Harvard Undergraduate BGLTQ Business Society (HUBBS) and Trans Task Force (TTF) and at-large members selected by application.

The meeting dates for Spring 2017 are:

  • Friday, February 17, 4-7pm (2nd floor, Bureau of Study Counsel)
  • Second meeting date: TBD
