What does identifying (or not identifying) with the BGLTQ community mean to you?

Creating chosen families. Supporting others. Finding support and a chance to decompress with other LGBTQ people.

How, if at all, has your identity shaped your academic and/or professional journey?

Fighting for the right to be myself and present in a way that is genuine and not changing to fit into Harvard/Higher Ed culture. It has pushed me to fight for other oppressed minorities and to be a voice that pushes back against causal racism, microaggressions, and monolithic cultures.

What advice would you give to yourself when you were an undergraduate?

You are exactly who you need to be right now, but it's ok to question and investigate any part of your identity. And it's completely ok to change how you identify.

What support can you provide to current undergraduate BGLTQ students who are hoping to enter into your field?

Mentorship, advice, a supportive ear to listen.

What are your areas of expertise?

Theater, art administration, production management, props, carpentry, workshop management
