What does identifying (or not identifying) with the BGLTQ community mean to you?

Identifying with the BGLTQ community has allowed me to be my most authentic self. I am able to live in my own skin as the person I am. I do not shrink myself to fit into how others want to see me. I show myself as who I am. And if people don't accept me that way, I know they aren't worth my time.

How, if at all, has your identity shaped your academic and/or professional journey?

I have only recently managed to bring my authentic self into the professional world. Finding a supportive community at Harvard has greatly impacted my ability to do my work.

What advice would you give to yourself when you were an undergraduate?

Stop rushing to the future. Explore more. Listen to more punk music.

What support can you provide to current undergraduate BGLTQ students who are hoping to enter into your field?

Happy to have conversations about being authentically yourself in the professional realm. Also happy to just chat about the college experience and navigating it as a queer person.

What are your areas of expertise?

Marketing Athletics: Former D1 athlete, high school and college coach (Volleyball) Development Communications Sports Management Event Management

Who is your (current) Queer Icon?

Catra from the Netflix show She-Ra
