April 2, 2018

The Carr Center announced its 2018 Speaker Series: The Fierce Urgency of Now: Human Rights in 2018. The series is facilitated by Professor Mathias Risse. At the 1963 March on Washington, Martin Luther King, Jr spoke of “the fierce urgency of now,” the need for immediate, “vigorous and positive action” on civil rights. This year, the Carr Center will host a series of talks that will examine the current state of human rights in the country, and worldwide. In the sixth talk of the series, Lecturer Tim McCarthy will give a talk titled: The Paradox of Progress: LGBTQ Human Rights in the 21st Century, video of which is included below. Please see the Carr Center's calendar for all upcoming dates and times of the other talks in the series.
