Open Call: Workshop with Teresita Fernández

Date:

Thursday, February 15, 2018, 4:00pm to 5:30pm

Location:

Harvard Art Museums, Naumburg Room (3rd floor)

In the fall of 2018, artist Teresita Fernández will install Autumn (…Nothing Personal), a site-specific work for Tercentenary Theatre commissioned by the Harvard University Committee on the Arts (HUCA). The installation, a reference to James Baldwin’s essay Nothing Personal, is meant to engage and amplify student voices by serving as a space for public dialogue and performance.

EMR will support student projects in collaboration and response to the installation in two ways: by offering spring workshops for spoken word artists who will give a fall performance on site, and by pairing students who wish to pursue individual projects in any medium with faculty who can advise their work. Projects will be shared online, with a prize given to one especially outstanding submission.

This is event is aimed towards for spoken word series participants, open medium artists and writers, and ethnic studies students and advocates.
