About the Office of BGLTQ Student Life
The Office of BGLTQ Student Life (QuOffice) serves as a central resource for bisexual, gay, lesbian, transgender, queer, and questioning (BGLTQ) students at Harvard College. Through our work, we foster the inclusion, affirmation, and celebration of all BGLTQ identities and expressions. We strive to create a community where BGLTQ students can thrive and where all students are well-equipped to engage knowledgeably and compassionately regarding gender and sexuality.

About the Internship
The Undergraduate Interns (QuInterns) are currently enrolled Harvard undergraduate students who work up to 10 hours per week for the Office of BGLTQ Student Life (“QuOffice”). Interns are ambassadors for the Office; ensuring that their fellow students have accurate and timely information about QuOffice programming and services, and communicating the needs of the BGLTQ student community back to Office staff. Programming in the Office is very often driven by the interns, meaning that Office-sponsored events are planned, implemented, and evaluated by the QuInterns. Interns direct students toward campus and local resources, publicize events over relevant house and organizational email listservs, and complete administrative and operational duties as assigned by the Assistant Director. As student leaders, the Interns also represent the interests of BGLTQ students on panels, committees, and working groups across the College. Undergraduate Interns report to the Assistant Director.

Expected Time Commitment:
8-10 hours per week during the 13 week fall and spring semesters (no hours during breaks, and reading and finals periods)

Wage: $15.00 per hour

As part of weekly hours, each Intern:

  1. meets one-on-one with the Assistant Director for at least 30 minutes
  2. all-team meetings for at least 1.5 hours per week
  3. meetings for any teams they are a part of in the QuOffice.

Currently, there are two teams: Communications Team & Systems Team; historically, there have also been teams of interns for Campus Education & Events.

Apply to join our team!
